So what better ways to preserved this symbol than to preserved the rose, so that it can last forever.

Florina Technology (www.florina.co.id)

The secret preservation process

Thanks to our very advanced technical process, botanicals get a fresh, natural and lasting aspect. It is the principle of stabilisation.

1) in order to get a satisfactory result, branches, leaves and flowers are harvested at their best beautiful lifecycle, then selected and prepared in bunches (for foliage only) for the stabilisation room.

2) in the stabilisation room a microclimate is recreated : there must be the right balance between humidity, heating and light, that are therefore constantly checked;

3) plants are placed in special long trays where a liquid mixture flows; this liquid is made with FLORINA special chemicals, water and controlled environment;

4) during this process, the plants's evaporates and is replaced by the liquid mixture;

5) after few days from 3 to 7, up to the plants variety and to the season) the liquid has totally replaced the sap;

6) plants are then washed and hung in a drying room for few more days.

7) a new quality control and cleaning takes place before botanicals are packed and ready for sale.

FLORINA uses only one preservation methods, when the flowers, leaves, branches or the plant material still green and alive.

The palm leaves or tree branches are put through a series of preservation steps where they soak up a number of different solutions through a period of time.

During these steps the deterioration process of the plant material slows down and finally comes to a complete stop.

The final result are healthy-looking leaves with a deep, green color. All chemicals used during the preservation process are completely environmentally safe and so will the preserved plant material be.

Do they last for ever?

In theory the preserved leaves and branches should last for ever, but that is very hard to accually prove. FLORINA will simply say that the flowers, leaves and branches will last for a very, very long time. One of the first leafes FLORINA preserved, seven years ago came from a phoenix palm tree and this leaf is still healthy green.

What are they? Are they really completely maintenance free? Will they never die? The answers are coming, just read on.

Please note, what follows is a description of how FLORINA prepares their preserved flowers and plants. Other companies that are in the business of preserving plants might use other techniques and consequently might not achieve the same results as we do with our preservation techniques.

What is a preserved plant?

Preserved flowers and foliage are real plants. In order to protect their beauty and charm, some precautionary measures should be taken :

- keep away from humidity and do not add water to containers holding preserved materials. Exposure to high levels of humidity may in some circumstances cause a leaking phenomena. Water in the air mixes with the chemicals inside the plant, causing droplets to form on the surface of the leaf. In this case you may simply dry it with dry sponge. Spots on a surface may be removed with a damp sponge. On tissues, use lukewarm water only.

- avoid exposure to direct sunlight to prevent premature fading.

- plants may be cleaned with a damp sponge or dusted with hairdryer set on low.

Some percautionary measures need to be taken when you use preserved flowers, especially roses, in order to avoid fragility problems. (Example: take the flowers out of their box without gripping them too much, in order to avoid breaking the petals heart.)

We suggest you to regularly check your warehouses to prevent insects, by spraying them with special insects repellents, especially if you also keep dried items in your stock .

Florina History

The history of FLORINA (www.florina.co.id)

FLORINA was created in 1998. As early as 1983 we were experimenting with the idea of preserving a plant to last for several years.

In 1984, we continued with our tests to cytolyse (preserve) plants. In the ultimate climate and the clean environment, we were very close to our dream of a non-toxic cytolysing process.

In 1985 was finally the breakthrough for the FLORINA cytolysing process. We had now found the way to preserve or more correctly cytolyse a plant to last for many years. It was a 100 % non-toxic process using our special chemical powder mixed with water, and non-toxic stimulants in a controlled environment.

This process was first patented in in 1985 and followed up in 1986 by patents in thirty other countries of the world. In the following years much knowledge was built into FLORINA on the methods of Plant Cytolysation.

After several years of research a new dream was realised, when we succeeded in cytolysing a ROSE. The fragile petals of the Rose had been a great problem for some time, but by 1990 we were ready to apply for a new world-wide patent : HOW TO CYTOLYSE FLOWERS, AS ROSES, which was granted in 1993.

COMPETITION IN THE WORLD
The FLORINA process is the ultimate way to preserve plants. In the world there is, as far as we know, only one other legal way to preserve green plants. This way is to use a toxic stimulant, Silver Nitrate, and as this process has many other limitations. - FLORINA is now conquering the world.

INDONESIA FACTORY
The FLORINA mother company, PT. Flora Impian Indonesia Indah, a company established in February 20th, 1998 - which registered office in Bandung, Indonesia producing in a 7,000sqm factory, long lasting natural arrangements treated with the unique, world patented, process of Cytolysation.
